2000 Square Kilometers in Japan Too Contaminated for People?

According to Mainichi, a professor at the Univ of Tokyo finds:

[exerpted] "His calculations indicate that contaminated areas with an estimated dose of radiation of 1 microsievert per hour or higher at a height of 0.5-1.0 meter came to 2,000 sq. km which include no-go zones near the Fukushima plant that was hit by the March 11 earthquake and tsunami.

"Most of the areas are within Fukushima, while some parts of Miyagi, Ibaraki and Tochigi prefectures surrounding Fukushima are also included."
